The initial pay is the basic pay under the 7th CPC. Railway employees also get Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance and other benefits, so the actual monthly RRB NTPC salary in hand is higher than the basic pay.
RRB NTPC Eligibility 2026
- Undergraduate posts: Plus Two or equivalent. General candidates need at least 50% marks; this condition does not apply to SC, ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and candidates with higher qualifications.
- Graduate posts: A degree from a recognised university.
- Typist posts: Candidates selected for typist posts must clear a typing skill test as described in the notice.
- Age relaxation: OBC (NCL), SC/ST, PwBD and Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India rules.

RRB NTPC Selection Process
- CBT 1: 100 questions, 100 marks, 90 minutes. This is a screening test. Graduate CBT 1 is tentatively planned for the fourth week of December 2026.
- CBT 2: 120 questions, 120 marks, 90 minutes. Marks in CBT 2 decide the merit.
- Typing Skill Test: Only for typist posts.
- Document Verification and Medical Examination.
There is negative marking of one-third mark for each wrong answer in the CBT. Subjects are General Awareness, Mathematics and General Intelligence & Reasoning.

- Create an account with your mobile number and email. One account is used for all RRB applications.
- Select CEN 06/2026 (graduate) or CEN 07/2026 (undergraduate).

- Fill in your personal and educational details and the post preference order.
- Upload your photo and signature in the size shown on the portal.
