Part Time Online Job Scam: 6 Warning Signs & What to Do – Urgent Alert

Part Time Online Job Scam

The Part Time Online Job Scam is one of the fastest-growing frauds in Kerala. Victims receive WhatsApp or Telegram messages offering ₹3,000–₹5,000 a day for simple tasks such as liking YouTube videos, rating hotels or reviewing products. After small initial payments, they are pushed to “invest” in tasks and lose lakhs of rupees. Police and the central cyber crime unit have issued repeated warnings about this Part Time Online Job Scam.

This guide explains how the scam works, warning signs, what to do if you have been cheated and how to find genuine part-time work.

How the Part Time Online Job Scam Works

  1. Bait message: You get a WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS message from an unknown number offering easy part-time work.
  2. Simple tasks: You are asked to like videos, follow pages or rate products and send screenshots.
  3. Small payments: You receive ₹100–₹500 to build trust.
  4. Telegram group: You are added to a “VIP” or “prepaid task” group with other members (often fake) showing big profits.
  5. Investment tasks: You are asked to pay money to unlock higher-paying tasks.
  6. Locked earnings: Your “balance” grows on a fake website, but you cannot withdraw it unless you pay more “taxes” or “fees”.
  7. Disappearance: Once you stop paying, the group blocks you.
